I still have not come to terms with the news of the band and
have found it hard to put all my mixed feelings into words. But needless =
to
say I feel privillaged to have been at the last concert ever, and to see =
the
boys embrace and take a bow after playing power and the passion with Jim
leaving his guitar leaning aginst his mic stand over his foldback amps
making a huge screaming noise when he walked off at the time gave me
goosebumps and still does(a feeling i really cant explain)and also makes =
the drum stick=20
and set list from the show much more valuable to me now although i wish =
I ahd have hung around=20
longer to get them signed. Craig told me the drumstick which has lyrics =
from some of their
songs on it is quite rare and that not to many where madeso signed would =
have made even better.
(if anyone does no how many of these where amde please contact me off =
list. I would be interested to know)

Maybe I am putting to much of a spin on things but as i said before PATP
was there last song on that night and ITS BETTER TO DIE ON YOUR
FEET THEN TO LIVE ON YOUR KNEES. Does seem very appropiate at this point
about the way the band finished, and also SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE
HARDEST LINE so it wasnt the easiest decision for Peter to make.

I first herd Midnight Oil when I was in grade six in 1983 and have not =
stopped since=20
my two older brothers where just as big a fan as me. Over the years =
there music interest
have changed but mine have not. Midnight Oil has been a constant in my =
life, a reference point
if you like (I even use it to work out dates buy what album was just =
relesed) Its a constant=20
something you can always come back to and will always make feel good. It =
takes me away and lets
me forget about the events around me at the moment. It seems to have a =
raw energy about it
I have never found anyonethat makes me feel the way the oils music does =
and I cant even imagine
a better concert then a oils concert

I feel privillaged to have met the friends I have at the concerts and =
through them to have met
the band and chatted with them. I hope the freindships to continue in =
the future.

I cannot explain the influnce the band has had on my life and will =
continue to have.
I think their music is ageless and while I can't credit the band for =
influncing me to take up guitar=20
they have defiently influnced my playing.

Anyway I wish them all the best, will miss them, and look forward to =
what
ever Jim Martin Rob and Bones do,and will follow Peter with great =
interest.

STEVE

P.S SORRY ABOUT THIS MESSAGE BEEN ALL OVER THE PLACE IT HAS TAKEN 4 DAYS =
TO WRITE IT
