could not have said it better myself (which is probably why I don't
write for the SMH)
I, for one, am disappointed PG joined labour. I know why he did it
but we have a proverb in Hebrew - "it is better to be head to the
foxes than tail to the lions".
the greens will never be a major party. this is what makes them
appealing. it is like anything else. we need generalists and
specialists. i never looked to the greens to have a significant
platform on foreign policy or tax reform. that's what labour and
liberals are for. the greens are there to have a platform on topics
the big parties don't have time or can't be bothered with. i think
PG could have helped them progress and would have had a bigger
impact than as a labour bencher.
